Wine First, a Safe Place For Whining & Wining

Welcome to my personal blog 'Wine First'! For fans of the blog I have written for Vivac Winery "Fueled by Vivac" for the past 10 years, you will continue to have lots of whining and wining while I share my life's escapades with you. For those new to my writing style, you may need to take a moment to see if this is where you want to be. Please answer these questions to decide if this blog is right for you:

1) Do you like wine?

2) Do you have a sense of humor?

3) Do you like to complain about... well anything and everything?

OK, if you answered YES to all three of these questions, we are about to become super tight friends.

My blog posts may not always be specifically about wine per se, but you can rest assured that I am imbibing ALL the time. I am unapologetically open, raw and  personal with my stories, so pour yourself a glass of wine ...yes right now ...and lets get to know each other!

I am a 41 year old wine obsessed woman living in northern New Mexico with my sexy, hilarious, winemaker husband and our 12 year old, phenomenal son (who is really a 65 yr old man stuck in a kid's body). My google bio will tell you about my qualifications and what I do, BUT that isn't what you really need to know about me to follow this blog, I am not going to give dry tasting notes or boring restaurant critiques here, I'm going to whine about running, about getting pudgy while eating hot wings, about fiascos that ensue while I travel the globe as an International Wine Judge (ya, I know, no way to throw that out there casually), the trials and tribulations of owning a winery, and (cue the SNL Debbie Downer sound bite) ... living with a now inactive, brain tumor. I am HEALTHY, but the scare it caused has rocked my family forever and since it isn't gone, the threat does lay there in the shadows that it will start to grow and become active again. This is why we have decided to travel as much as humanly possible while we can, and be as wild and crazy as this old, out of shape, body can stand. Oh and drink all the wine on the planet. It's a big job, but someone has to do it.

You may cry, and will hopefully laugh with me, but it will all be shared with a glass in hand, because the most important part of every day is Wine First.
